This program is designed for those students seeking to gain employment as an entry level firefighter in a municipal, wildland or private fire protection organization.
There are no prerequisite skills or enrollment limitations.
The student learning outcomes include the following:

The Fire Technology Program is designed to prepare students for a career in the Fire Service which includes understanding the importance of diversity and equity when providing service to the community. Successful students will learn how to implement inclusive team building skills through effective oral and written communications while providing for safety at all times.
Additionally, this program follows an industry specific curriculum outlined in the United States Fire Administration Fire & Emergency Services Higher Education (FESHE). The curriculum provides a strong foundation in basic fire behavior principles, building construction, fire suppression strategies/tactics, firefighter safety, community risk reduction, supervisory/leadership practices, incident management.
Applicants for this program must complete all the coursework with at least a "C" in each course.
