San José City College offers a Project Management Certificate which is designed for and aligned to the Google Project Management Professional Certificate. Students who complete this certificate will be exposed to and become proficient in the field of project management, and will qualify for in-demand jobs in project management.
A grade of “C” or better is required in all certificate courses.

Program Proposal Attributes
- Certificate of Achievement: 8 to fewer than 16 semester (or 12 to fewer than 24 quarter) units (B)
- Define project management and describe what constitutes a project.
- Describe the life cycle of a project and explain the significance of each phase.
- Define organizational structure and culture and explain how it impacts project management.
- Explain the Agile project management approach and philosophy, including values and principles.
- Explain the pillars of Scrum and how they support Scrum values.
- Identify tasks and milestones and document and prioritize them in a project plan.
- Define quality management standards and explore how to effectively share qualitative data.
- Demonstrate Microsoft Project effectively into key phases of the project management process.
- Identify the most critical features of MS Project and explain the proper use of these features.

According to the COE LMI report roughly 21 of BACCC's 28 colleges have a Project Management certificate or program and there remains an undersupply thus we did not request that SJCC check in with sister colleges.
