This program provides Career Technical Education opportunities in the areas of business communication, marketing, web communications, digital media production, graphic design and web/mobile design. This certificate provides a specialized focus in developing a foundation for implementing marketing ideas and strategies via web and digital platforms. Students have the opportunity to develop ideas and concepts, delineate marketing strategies, construct and present marketing approaches for web and mobile-based campaigns. Emphasis is on researching and writing strategic business and marketing plans, concept and content development, and integrating marketing solutions into digital, mobile and social media environments.Upon completion of this program a student should be able to implement a marketing and business plan using a variety of digital and new media technologies.Career opportunities for students with this certificate exist in marketing communications, social media marketing, web and mobile design and production, and other areas in the field of online marketing communications.

This cross discipline certificate is to provide business and marketing students skills in internet marketing and digital communications. Classes focus on development of online marketing properties and products. Emphasis is on researching and writing strategic business and marketing plans, creating content, integrating marketing solutions and measuring results. Career opportunities include marketing, digital communications, social media marketing, and web and mobile communications.

The DM Program is classified as a CTE Program and as such we prepare students with skills and knowledge that responds to current needs of business, technology, and the allied professional fields. The DM program intersects design, technology and communication fields which are critical to the college mission that strives to advance California's economic growth and global competitiveness and contribute to the region's continuous work force improvement.

Course Report
The certificate is designed so a student would take 12 units in the first semester and 8 units in the second semester for a total of 20 units completed in two semesters.
Required courses decreased from 18 to 17 units; elective courses increased from 2 to 3 units. Changes include the removal of DM/IS 010C, 014 and 023. DIGM 001, 011, 021A, 025, 025A, 025B were added to the required courses listed. The electives list was replaced with DIGM 002, 003 and 099 - removing DM/IS 025, 025B, 025C and 025E.
