This program is recognized by I-CAR, the Inter-Industry Conference on Automotive Collision Repair career technical education institutions. It includes course work in practical and advanced level skills for employment as a professional in the industry. To earn an Associate Degree students must complete: (1) all major course requirements with a grade of C or better; (2) Cypress College Native General Education requirements, California State University General Education Breadth requirements (CSU GE Breadth), or IGETC General Education requirements; (3) the Social Justice, Equity & Sustainability graduation requirement; (4) any elective courses to complete a minimum of 60 units; and, (5) have a minimum G.P.A. of 2.0. At least 50% of all course work must be completed at Cypress College.
20-25 students per year. According to the LAOC LMI data, "In Los Angeles/Orange County, the number of jobs related to these occupations is projected to decrease by 8% through 2025. However, there will be nearly 600 job openings per year through 2025 due to retirements and workers leaving the field...therefore...the COE endorses this proposed program."
