Paraeducator/Instructional and Teacher Aide Certificate

This program will prepare students to apply for paraeducator/instructional aide positions as well as teacher's aide positions, such as before/after school supervisory positions. This program will prepare students with subject content and skillsets to support classroom teachers and work with diverse children in academic settings, before/after school settings, and other relevant settings. 

15-30 completers per year

OUTCOME 1: Employ strategies and techniques to supervise children with diverse needs.

OUTCOME 2: Work with students, teachers, parents/families, and colleagues in a classroom or school setting

OUTCOME 3: Apply the certificate towards employment relevant as a paraprofessional, teacher assistant, or support staff in a classroom, school, or related environment, and/or entry into a teaching credential or child development permit program.

As recommended by faculty and in collaboration with the Education Advisory Committee, this program has been developed to meet the needs of industry.
