Program Goal

The goal and objective of the program is to meet the workforce needs of the Aviation Maintenance Technician program in accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) requirements. The program is currently being offered but with the new FAA guidelines, we are reducing major program unit load to 60 from 72.

Program Requirements Narrative

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) recently modified their requirements for Aviation Maintenance Technician program from an hours based program to competency based. As such, course content was realigned to incorporate the necessary material into the the 60 unit program. To achieve the AS degree, students will also need to complete the lower division CSU or IGETC certification leading for a total of 95 lower division units.
