Catalog Description

Upon successful completion of the program, the student is eligible to take the National Registered Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) and California State licensure examination necessary to become a licensed paramedic. This program will allow students to continue and obtain an Associate of Science Degree in the prehospital medical field. The degree may help them prepare for higher-level positions in fields related to graduating. Licensed paramedics in the profession have an opportunity to advance their careers.

Program Goal

The program goal is to prepare students in cognitive, psychomotor, and effective domains through didactic, clinical, and field internship at Advanced Life Support level. 

1. Students will be able to perform an initial assessment to identify and manage immediate life threats. 

2. Students will demonstrate on-going patient evaluations and patient care. 

3. Students will define and confirm basic life support and advanced life support treatments.

4. Students will be able to diagnose and properly formulate a plan.
