Finance

The certificate program in Finance is designed to develop analytic and critical thinking skills in the financial area in businesses. Courses emphasize financial accounting, securities valuation, financial analysis, cash flow and investment management.

The program will prepare students to obtain entry-level employment in a variety of different  positions in the finance, bursar/treasurer or investment department of a small to mid-size business enterprise,  or  an entry-level or trainee analyst in a investment banking or financial services firm. 

The program requires students to complete all required coursework listed below with a grade of “C” or better. Grades of “CR” or “P” will be accepted as equivalent of a “C” or better.  At least 3 units in an advanced course from the certificate must be completed at OCC.  Courses taken at other institutions may be approved for substitution at the discretion of the program faculty.
