Catalog Description

This certificate will prepare the student for a career in the field of web design. The focus is upon web design skills in designing the look, layout, functionality and organization of websites.

GWC expects 20-30 students to complete this certificate annually.

Program Goal

The goals of this Certificate is to produce students who are able to obtain positions working in the graphic design industry with the expectations that the following outcomes will be achieved:

OUTCOME 1: Describe the website design process.

OUTCOME 2:Design and build websites.

OUTCOME 3:Evaluate current websites on the Internet.

OUTCOME 4:Utilize software to produce website projects.

OUTCOME 5:Use HTML5, or latest versions, to code responsive websites.
