The Welding Technology Certificate of Achievement in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) provides training to gain the technical and applied skills to perform advanced welding tasks. Course work includes a comprehensive study with an emphasis on application of advanced welding techniques and industry practices.Program completers are prepared for entry-level employment into industries such as aerospace, motorsports, petrochemical, and general fabrication.

Program Goal

The aerospace industry requires highly skilled welders to assemble aircrafts and aerospace machines. In order to prepare for a career in this field, relevant education and training is required along with industry recognized credentials. The addition of this certificate and its associate welding courses provides the knowledge and skills for students to apply to entry-level aerospace positions not currently offered.  The student learning outcome for the Gas Tungsten Arc Welding Certificate of Achievement is as follows: Demonstrate proficiency in industry recognized principles and practices as they apply to today's welding and metal fabrication industries.
