Catalog Description

A paramedic licensure program requiring a grade of B or better. Limitation on enrollment to 30 students. Students must be a currently certified EMT in good standing, pass a background check, physical exam, vaccination titer and drug screen. A high school diploma is required for acceptance to the Paramedic Academy Program. Must have EMT experience of 1,000 hours or 6 months full-time, and required to have an AHA BLS certification that does not expire until after the last date of enrollment in the course.  Student must provide a letter from employer at the time of submission of application.

Enrollment Completer Projections

The Paramedic Academy Program will have an enrollment limit of 30 students. The pre-course class (EMPT 090) will accept and enrollment of 40-50 students. At the conclusion of the pre-course class, the students will be tested and the top 30 students will be accepted into the Paramedic Academy Program. This will ensure a higher percentage of students completing the course with an estimated 26-28 students completing each course.
