The Office Assistant Certificate of Achievement program will prepare students for entry-level office personnel positions that require use of Microsoft Office applications, or any employment requiring competency in word processing, spreadsheets, office databases, and multimedia presentations.
A grade of “C” or better is required in all courses. Similar courses with equivalent student learning outcomes successfully completed at other California Community Colleges with a grade of "C" or better may be accepted.

The Office Assistant Certificate of Achievement program will teach students to use a computer operating system and computer applications for word processing, electronic spreadsheet creation, database management, multimedia presentations, and electronic personal management with competence. Upon completion of the program, students will be prepared for entry-level office personnel positions that require use of Microsoft Office applications, or any employment requiring competency in word processing, spreadsheets, office databases, and multimedia presentations.
Students must complete 15 units of required coursework as set forth below with a grade of "C" or better in all courses. Courses with similar learning/competency outcomes that have been successfully completed with a grade of "C" or better at other community colleges may be accepted as substitution for OCC courses, at the discretion of the faculty.
It is recommended that students have or develop competency in keyboarding (CIS A190 and CIS 092) prior to enrolling in the other classes, but all classes can be taken concurrently and completed in a single semester OR taken sequentially.
