The International Business program is one of several marketing certificate programs that are designed to train those individuals whose career paths involve the creative techniques of both oral and written sales presentations, advertising, and marketing. Courses emphasize the tools used by marketers, the environmental forces affecting the marketing process, sales communication skills, the promotion, marketing research, and advertising planning and strategy. Program completers will be able to function effectively in entry-level international business positions, and apply and utilize the international business principles and techniques they have learned to market a business from an international perspective.

Program completers will be able to be employed and function effectively in an entrepreneurial, managerial, or entry-level international business position and effectively apply the international business principles they have learned to facilitate international business transactions in a variety of settings.
The program requires students to successfully complete 12 units of required courses as listed below with a grade of “C” or better. Grades of “CR” or “P” will be accepted as equivalent of a “C” . At least 3 units in an advanced course require for the certificate must be completed at OCC. Other courses completed at OCC or another institution may be accepted as substitutions at the department’s discretion.
