The Photography Certificate of Achievement signifies that the awardee has acquired skills and competency in foundational processes of photography. Upon completion, the student will have worked in both traditional and digital image-making and editing processes with emphasis both in creative expression and marketable job skills.
Projected to have an average of 15 students completing program, annually.
The goal of the Certificate of Achievement in Photography is to train students in the technical, practical, and expressive skills required to succeed in either commercial photography work or personal photographic expression.
Upon completion of the program, a student will:
a) Demonstrate personal growth as a photographer.
b) Demonstrate competency using contemporary photo equipment.
c) Demonstrate competency with, and understanding of traditional image-making processes.
d) Recognize historical movements and contemporary trends in photography.
REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT
a) Complete Major Field courses.
b) Complete at least six units at Ohlone College.
c) Maintain a 2.0 grade point average in Major Field Courses.
