This certificate is designed to provide students with basic accounting skills and knowledge necessary to obtain entry-level accounting and other accounting support positions in small and medium sized businesses.
Upon completion of the program students will demonstrate accounting skills to classify, analyze, record business and payroll transactions, prepare financial reports and closing entries at the end of an accounting cycle.

The program goal is to develop workforce readiness in the field of bookkeeping. The objective is to encourage students to enter the bookkeeping field that contributes to the community in providing essential bookkeeping services for small and medium size businesses.
This certificate will require 9 units in accounting education which are essential to bookkeeping practitioners. Additionally, elective courses focus on applying business technology and software that will be needed to successfully operate in bookkeeping.
