This certificate is designed to prepare students with the skills necessary to enter the Auto Paint and Refinishing industry. Training is given in both theory and practical skills. Directed practical work is given under simulated on-the-job conditions.
Annual enrollment completers is 20 students annually. According to the LAOC LMI data, "In Los Angeles/Orange County, the number of jobs related to these occupations is projected to decrease by 8% through 2025. However, there will be nearly 600 job openings per year through 2025 due to retirements and workers leaving the field...therefore...the COE endorses this proposed program."
Develop entry-level skills and knowledge for employment in the automotive industry ;i.e. an auto body repair facility.
Acquire the skills and knowledge to work safely in the lab/shop environment.
Demonstrate the ability to become part of the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR).
This certificate program builds on the skills acquired in ACR Auto Collision 1 for more employment opportunities.
