The Management - Level II Certificate of Achievement encompasses areas that include an overall study of human resources management issues that arise in the workplace, ethical issues that arise in organizations, and a working understanding of how managers use Excel and spreadsheets in organizations. This certificate is designed to enhance student knowledge in these areas to better prepare them for entry-level organizational management positions. The courses supporting the certificate combine classroom lectures, demonstrations, and a wide use of technology to ensure relevant training.
15 student annually are expected to complete this certificate.
The Business program is creating a Management Level II Certificate to fulfill the current and projected demand for people who might be interested in getting first-line and mid-level supervisory positions. This new certificate is supported by the Business Advisory Committee, which met on September 24, 2021, and the COE report dated October 2020.
There is an interest in and a need for creating a program for both transfer and nontransfer business students who may want to develop enhanced training and skills for entry-level and mid-level organizational management positions. This certificate is designed to prepare students (1) for both entry-level and mid-level supervisory positions in business and industry; and (2) to seek promotions and advancements with their current or future employers from first-line supervisory positions to mid-level management positions and/or perhaps to more responsible supervisory and management positions.
