The Web Development program serves students entering fields that need Web Development skills and knowledge and working professionals who need to learn new skills for their current job or for career advancement. The program prepares students to design and create Web sites, including integrating databases and content management systems, creating multimedia elements, and editing content to follow writing for the Web guidelines. Students acquire a solid foundation in usability, accessibility, and design principles, as well as technical skills at hand coding HTML, CSS, PHP and MySQL. Students use industry standard software and practices to prepare for entry-level careers.

Web Development AS Degree AwardGoals and Objectives
a. Associate Degree Goals:
1. To provide students with the theoreticalknowledge, applicable standards-based technical and coding skills, and attitudenecessary to function as an entry-level Web developer.
2. To impart to students theuse of current practices and standards of Web informational design: writing forthe Web, design principles, Web site architecture, Web site usability and Webaccessibility.
3. To prepare student forthe demands and responsibilities in the work environment, students will createprojects on their own, or in teams, with each student assuming responsibilityfor the production process.

The objective ofthis award is to prepare students for entry level careers in Web Development bymeeting industry demands and focusing on full stack development.
Students who complete the Web Development Associate of Science Degree will be able to:
· Create and write user friendly content for the web
· Effectively turn designs into Web sites
· Produce Web Sites with validated HTML5 markup
· Utilize modern CSS3 techniques to add styles to web pages
· Create Web Applications with Modern Frameworks like React
· Create and manipulate a database
