The Early Childhood Studies Associate Teacher Certificate of Achievement is designed for students intending to work in the field of Early Childhood Education. Students completing this certificate will have met the criteria to apply for the Associate Teacher level permit issued by the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing.

The Early Childhood Studies Associate Teacher, Certificate of Achievement is a Career and Technical Education program, designed for students intending to enter the field of Early Childhood Education, or for students interested in studying child development within the family and cultural context. Students who complete this certificate program will meet the educational requirements to apply for a Child Development Permit at the Associate Teacher level, through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC). The Associate Teacher permit authorizes the holder to provide service in the care, development, and instruction of children in a childcare and development program and supervise those who hold a CCTC issued Aide or Assistant child development permit.
