The Small Business Management/Entrepreneurship - Level I Certificate of Achievement encompasses an area of study which includes a overall study of basic business issues, legal and other business organizational issues, numerous issues faced by small business owners, and some basic bookkeeping principles and the use of relevant software. This certificate is designed to prepare students to open their own businesses, and the courses supporting the certificate combine classroom lectures, demonstrations, and a wide use of technology to ensure relevant training.
It is expected that 15 students annually will earn this Level 1 Certificate. The number of students could be much higher as the program is advertised to our Business students.
To support students who want to open their own business. Also, some CTE program faculty on our campus such as Cosmetology, Esthetician, AUTO and ITIS have expressed a desire for their students to gain more business knowledge by completing this certificate.
Students completing this Certificate of Achievement will take courses designed to prepare students to open their own businesses. The courses combine lecture, demonstrations and use of technology to ensure students are fully trained to succeed in starting a new business venture.
