Title 5 limits community colleges to offer prep for major coursework (not upper division). Also exam prep coursework has been left to contract education. I am not sure if that is an ed code/Title 5 requirement or not, but, we community colleges usually do not offer credit coursework that has the only outcome being preparation for an exam. CPA prep classes are offered in this format, but, not for credit (that I know of). CPA required baccalaureate degree, exam and other requirements. I am interested to find out whether a certificate of achievement may include upper division coursework and/or may be offered for the sole outcome of exam prep (for an exam that may only be taken after earning a bachelor's degree).
