The General Electrician certificate provides opportunities for students interested in a career as an electrical construction worker. Students will obtain skills and fundamental theories in electrical principles, Residential Wiring, Commercial Wiring, Industrial Wiring, Voice Data and Video Installation, and Troubleshooting Techniques. The General Electrician program uses the National Center for Construction Education Research (NCCER) curricula that includes competency-based assessments. NCCER is a national industry-recognized credential with the Department of Apprenticeship Standards (DAS). Students completing this certificate will be able to register with the Department of Apprenticeship Standards as an Electrician Trainee (ET).
The pathway is designed as a 2 semester program. Based on the projected data, it is anticipated that 15 students annually will complete the program. LMI projections note a need for 53 completers per year.
THis program is a realignment of the existing Electrical Program by creating a new certificate as a General Electrician that will train students in all phases of commercial and industrial electrical technology. There is an identifiable labor market need and will train students in demand occupations with industry recognized credentials. The program will be supported by a variety of funding sources including General Fund, Perkins, and Strong Workforce.

I support with further analysis on whether it requires an apprenticeship or journeyperson card.

This career path normally requires a journey person. However, you have it listed as a internship.
