The Banking and Finance program is designed for students seeking sector entry-level positions and promotional opportunities. Students will gain knowledge that prepares them to facilitate the critical functional areas of banking and finance in the private and public sectors. The program will provide students with skills in verbal and written communication in addition to problem-solving skills. Strategic business decisions require employees to comprehend risk analysis and adhere governmental regulations and ethical standards when working with financial information.
There will be a projected 35-40 completers.
The Banking and Finance Program supports the following occupations:
· Banking – client services
· Loan - interview clerk and related services
· Teller – bank or savings and loan
· Credit, clerks, checkers, authorizers, and counselors
· Bill & account collectors
· Insurance services
The Banking and Finance program consists of seven (7) courses that accrue 23 certificate units. The core courses lay the foundational knowledge with the initial courses in Banking and Finance. Eleven (11) of the units articulate to CSU campuses.
