This certificate will prepare the student for a career in the field of graphic design and also prepare students for upper division courses in Digital Arts. The focus is upon foundation graphic design skills in current industry standard software, typography and visual communication.
GWC expects 20-30 students to complete this certificate annually.
The goals of this Certificate is to produce students who are able to obtain positions working in the graphic design industry with the expectations that the following outcomes will be achieved:
OUTCOME 1:Produce commercial artwork utilizing principles of design and layout.
OUTCOME 2:Interpret terminology for effective design and production and discussion of digital art projects.
OUTCOME 3:Utilize software to produce digital art projects.
Based on the recommendation from the DART Advisory and in alignment with other regional colleges, the following classes will be included in the program.
