This program will prepare students to apply for paraeducator/instructional aide positions as well as teacher's aide positions, such as before/after school supervisory positions. This program will prepare students with subject content and skillsets to support classroom teachers and work with diverse children in academic settings, before/after school settings, and other relevant settings .This program will support students preparing for the California Subject Examinations for Teachers (CSET) in Math (single subject)
GWC Expects between 5-10 completers annually.
OUTCOME 1: Employ strategies and techniques to supervise programs of diverse children..
OUTCOME 2:Work with students, teachers, parents/families, and colleagues in a classroom or school setting..
OUTCOME 3:Apply the certificate towards employment relevant as a paraprofessional, teacher assistant, or support staff in a classroom, school, or related environment, and/or entry into a teaching credential or child development permit program
In collaboration with the Advisory Committee and GWC faculty, this program entails classes that will prepare students for Paraeducator roles.
