The Computer Networking program provides general networking theory, practical experience, soft-skills development, and opportunities for career exploration. It teaches networking based on application, covering networking concepts within the context of network environments students may encounter in their daily lives-- from small office and home office (SOHO) networking to more complex enterprise and theoretical networking models later in the curriculum.
The program is a part of an stackable certificate for students in Computer Information Technology and will be completed by 8 students per year.
Computer Networking is a growing field that can be utilized by every organization and industry in the world. Computers and the networks that provide those computers with the Internet are in high demand. There is no industry that does not utilize networks and computer related technology.
After earning this networking degree, students will have the tools needed to pursue opportunities as a network administrator, systems engineer or IT director. You’ll use our innovative hands-on learning tools rather than just studying the theoretical aspects of networking technology. Learn how to install, configure and support a network. Specific topics in your courses include: local area networking, wide area networks environments, routing and switching implementation and management, web services, windows server configurations, cloud technologies. The program will focus on the following objectives:
