This certificate is awarded to students who have successfully completed the Module II Law Enforcement sequence of courses and may now perform general law enforcement duties in a limited peace officer or volunteer capacity. This certificate serves as the prerequisite for entry into Module I Basic Law Enforcement Course.
This 16 week program is offered twice a year, once in Fall and again in Spring with an anticipated average enrollment of 15 students per a term.
The goal of the Law Enforcement Module II Basic Course Certificate of Achievement is to
prepare students to meet the legal Level II requirements established by the Commission on
Peace Officers Standards and Training (POST). The primary objective of this certificate is for
students to complete the required training to be a Level II reserve officer. Level II reserve
officers may perform general law enforcement assignments while under the immediate
supervision of a peace officer who has completed the Regular Basic Course. These officers may
also work assignments authorized for Level III reserve officers without immediate supervision.
