A Certificate of Achievement in Personal Training is designed to prepare a student for work in the personal fitness field. Students who complete the Personal Training Certificate will be prepared to site for the certification exam from an accredited personal training or group exercise leadership organization such as the American College of Sports Medicine.

PERSONAL TRAINING Program Outcomes
Design a fitness and exercise prescription plan based on functional anatomy and biomechanics.
Conduct health and fitness assessments, including assessment of coronary and other risk factors.
Design and evaluate appropriate nutrition and weight management programs to complement exercise prescription for apparently healthy populations.
Possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to take and pass the national exams for the following certifications: the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) personal training certification and the American Council on Exercise (ACE) Group Fitness Instructor certification.
