Programming in iOS certificate provides students the building blocks of programming including syntax, logic, structures, functions, and patterns. Through the courses, students will explore the use of developer tools such as Playgrounds, Xcode, Simulator, Interface Builder and Apple Development Kit to create simple iOS app using Swift, Cocoa and XCode. This certificate allows students to discover and explore the common iOS frameworks and practice building simple iOS app projects along with expanding development skills for Apple system platforms.

The goal of this program is to increase diversity in the technical workforce by providing an education platform for entry-level Software Development, iOS Programmer, System Developer, Apple Developer, and other programming-related positions. This program aims to develop quality and quantity of technical professionals to fulfill business needs and generate greater economic impact in the greater Inland Empire region. Students will gain soft and technical skills necessary to become entry-level computer programmer, system developer, software analyst, and software developer.
The certificate program requires the completion of 4 core classes for a total of 12 units, which entails programming concepts from introductory level to app development for iOS platform using Swift programming language.
