The Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC) Paramedic Program prepares entry-level paramedics through the learning and application of advanced skills within the field of emergency medical response. MSJC offers a full-time hybrid program that meets Monday and Tuesday to support the schedules of working EMTs seeking career advancement. Students are required to participate equally in on-campus courses and asynchronous online learning. The program will focus on cognitive, psychomotor and affective learning domains to support the student in preparation for National Registry. The MSJC Program will seek CAAHEP Accreditation in order to meet and exceed the standards of practice.
The projected graduates of the program is 40 students to earn an associates degree. There will be 80 students in the program at one time with first year and second year students combined.
The paramedic program at MSJC has an occupational goal for the region. With the program design offering flexibility to working EMTs, this program will assist the emergency medical services career ladder in our Southwest Inland Empire Region.
The MSJC Paramedic Program will require the following pre-requisite courses at a passing score of C or better and 2.0 GPA for admission:
AH 105- Medical Terminology
ANA 101- Anatomy and Physiology I
ANA 102- Anatomy and Physiology II
EMS 101- Paramedic Program
MATH 105- College Algebra
The Paramedic Program will have a multi-criteria point scale for objective decision making in admissions which will include the following:
Pre-Req Academic Average: 40 pts
Life Experience: 10 Pts
Language: 5 pts
Work Verification: 20 pts
