This degree prepares the student for entry-level positions in human resources within the field of business administration. Emphasis will be placed on organizational management, basic accounting, payroll, compensation and benefits, recruitment, discipline, and business ethics and the legal issues that associated with ethics.
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
1. Demonstrate the understanding of basic organizational management which is used by all human resources assistants. To include the application of applying theories of management and psychology of human behavior for the benefit of the organization. This will include conflict resolutions and leadership dynamics.
2. Demonstrate the ability to apply theories and practices relating to the management of people. To include the application of managing human resources within an organization, and basic personnel processes.
3. Demonstrate the ability to preform general accounting procedures. To include the application of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general payroll procedures.
4. Demonstrate the ability to perform general business communications in multiple modalities. To include basic computer operating systems, basic computer software applications, and the ability to choose the correct form of communication for basic business situation.
5. Demonstrate the ability to maintain physical and electronical records. To include the application of a Records Information Management (RIM) system for both physical and electronic files.
6. Demonstrate the ability to apply IRAC method of analysis to solve or resolve business ethical issues that may have legal ramifications. To include process of creating procedures for possible prevention of future ethical issues.
