Cybersecurity professionals maintain an organization's work flow and keeps its lines of communication open. They are responsible for the upkeep, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems; especially multi-user computers, such as servers. System security encompasses all facets of accessing information assets. From authentication, to software updates, anti-virus protection, and modifications - security is a key component to a device operating at its optimum. These best practices help to mitigate various security concerns.

This will be a new program to Imperial Valley College and will target those who want to pursue an education in hands on Cybersecurity. There are several industry standard certifications that can be obtained by taking the courses in the program. The courses will be aimed at not only preparing students to obtain industry certifications but allow students to further their profession by transferring to four year institutions to obtain their bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity.
