The Cloud Computing Specialist Certificate of Achievement program focuses on teaching students the fundamentals of cloud computing specifically on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure. Students will be prepared for a detailed overview of cloud concepts, AWS core services, security, architecture, pricing, and support. Further exploration of the fundamentals of building IT infrastructure on AWS will support development with the AWS SDK and identify best practices for building and deploying applications in the AWS Cloud preparing students to pursue in-demand DevOps, support, and cloud operations roles.
It is projected that 5-10 students will earn this certificate annually.
The program goals and objectives include providing the fundamental knowledge of computer infrastructure, networking, and security. The core objectives of the program are to offer four foundational cloud computing courses designed by Amazon Web Services. These courses include AWS Academy Cloud Foundations; AWS Academy Cloud Architecting; AWS Academy Cloud Developing; and AWS Academy Cloud Operations.
This 4-course certificate (12 units) will consist of 4 courses AWS Academy Cloud Foundations, AWS Academy Cloud Architecting, AWS Academy Cloud Developing, and AWS Academy Cloud Operations.

From Southwestern: This is a duplication of our Computer Technician basic certificate that is being modified, with the addition of cloud skillset This is a natural addition to the job requirements of a Computer Technician that will needs skills in the area of Cloud Computing, the natural evolution of the job category. Our Python courses are more Cybersecurity specific and we have an internship component.
