TheFire Company Officer Certificate of Achievement is being created in response toindustry requests. It is also beingcreated for in-service fire personnel in recognition for advance course work toaid in the promotional process. The FireCompany Officer Certificate of Achievement is in line with Fire Technology ProgramOutcomes as listed below:
Over the past several years, fireindustry partners and the Fire Advisory Board have requested a Company OfficerCertification. Recently, the CaliforniaFire Technology Directors Association (CFTDA) has completed the CourseIdentification Numbering (C-ID) process for specific courses that many collegeshave identified as essential to this certification. By creating a Fire Company Officer’s Certificateof Achievement, many in-service fire personnel who desire to promote within thefire service will have an avenue to pursue certification.
The Curriculum for this Certificate ofAchievement has been approved by the Chancellors office.
Current Sierra College Fire Technologyawards include: AA/AS in FireTechnology, Certificate of Achievement in Fire Technology and Fire Academy, anda Firefighter II Skills Certificate.
