The Film, Television, and Media Arts (FTMA) Production Specialist- Advance Certificate program will prepare students to pursue careers in the media industry as producers, directors, scriptwriters, videographers, film and video editors, camera operators, gaffers, scriptwriters, and entry job level positions in media production. They will be able to work in a variety of media related fields and industries including local broadcast television, internet media development, marketing, public relations, communications, advertising, entertainment, as well as education, government, medical institutions and businesses where media technology is used.

This is a rapidly growing industry that has become nearly ubiquitous throughout most industries, therefore we expect enrollment to continue to increase as the program gains recognition and student interest surges. There is a growing number of high schools, colleges and universities throughout San Diego county and across the country that offer a similar program
The program will prepare students for careers in the media industry. Students will be able to: 1)identify the production model of the four distinct processes; 2) discuss existing and emerging trends of media arts applications in various industries; 3)demonstrate an ability to operate camera and sound equipment 4) develop an understanding of the general concepts behind the business practices in the media industry.
