There is an elevated demand for food grown without chemical and/or environmental degradation from strong growing public consciousness of the need to preserve and protect limited resources. Calls for sustainable, fair and socially responsible practices for growing and supplying food present increased opportunities in the expanding field of urban farming.
This Urban Farming Certificate will prepare students for entry level careers in urban farm management, organic fruit and vegetable production, harvesting practices, organic fertilization and integrated pest management strategies common to “farm-to-table” urban setting.
