Students completing a Certificate of Achievement in Child Development Administration have completed a specialization in the administration and supervision of programs and staff that provide for the care and education of young children.
Program Learning Outcomes: Upon completion, students will able to:
apply effective supervision, coaching, and mentoring strategies that support staff in their efforts to create high quality learning outcomes of young children in early learning settings.

Program goal:
Students will be academically prepared to meet the state requirements for employment as directors/supervisors of funded early care and education programs in the State of California.
Rationale:
Students pursuing careers in the administration and supervision of funded programs offering care and education of young children are required by the State of California to have completed eight units of administration coursework in addition to core child development coursework.
Students will be required to complete foundational coursework in Child Development, as well as eight units of specialization in the are of Child Development Administration.
This coursework is required for all students seeking to earn their California Child Development Site Supervisor Permit, which is required for employment as a director/supervisor of a funded child development program in California.
