This short three-course fashion certificate program offers a brief insight to students interested in fashion design and merchandising. It is ideal for those who want to transfer to a university with a fashion design and merchandising program to pursue a career in the global fashion industry.
It is anticipated that 5-7 students per year will complete this certificate.
Upon successful completion of the program, students will demonstrate an ability to:
Describe and evaluate social and ethical values in their cultural and historical contexts relevant to fashion.
Analyze textiles and make appropriate choices for various textile products.
Use correct terminology for style, construction, and production of clothing.
Students may take any of the three required courses in any semester.
