This program is an overview of data analytics and their use in making business decisions, covering a broad selection of topics along the life-cycle of data analytics (business objective; data collection, cleansing, transformation; data analysis, data visualization/storytelling; data-based decision making). Professional skills, such as communication, presentation, and data storytelling, will be presented. Students will acquire a basic working knowledge of data analytics through hands-on projects and study in a variety of business, engineering, social sciences, or life sciences domains. Issues of ethics, leadership, and teamwork will be highlighted.

Students in the Data Analytics Program can enroll in a series of six courses in an academic year. Starting with programming and fundamentals courses in the first semester, students will learn programming languages, Python and R, and explore the frameworks of data analytics/science and its applicability to business decision making. In the second semester, students will be immersed in hands-on practical applications using the industry's best-of-breed software platforms in data analytics. The final course will be a capstone course, which will culminate in projects using real-world case studies in business analytics and presenting analytical insights to a group of targeted stakeholders.
