This certificate will introduce a variety of welding and cutting processes which students will experience in their
welding career. This will help students to understand the various processes and help them to make decisions
which will help them focus their efforts for future employment. Students will learn and understand the usage
of the SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, FCAW and other welding and cutting processes.
Estimated: 6 students annually
The program is to provide foundational welding skills in multiple welding techniques for obtaining an entry-level welding job.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to:
1. Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to demonstrate welding techniques in Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW).
2. Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to demonstrate welding techniques in Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW).
3. Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to demonstrate welding techniques in Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW)
4. Upon successful completion of this program, students will be able to demonstrate welding techniques in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW)
