The Industrial Technology Degree, Electronics Option, teaches essential skills that can be put to use as an industrial technician, electronics technician, field service representative, salesperson or computer technician. A degree holding student will also be looked at for quick promotions into supervision and management positions. Entry level positions include petroleum/energy, manufacturing automation, process control, logistics and distribution, material processing, and industrial maintenance. These positions typically require clean background checks, good health and mobility, and the ability to work well with little supervision.

1. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will demonstrate proficiency in technical skills and safety principles required for employment in the electronics industry. Assessment:Track VTEA core indicators and safety exam pass rates.
2. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will demonstrate problem solving skills used in electrical design and product development. Assessment:Skill/theoretical exams and evaluation of group lab assignments and team projects.
3. Upon successful completion of the program, the student will demonstrate a deep understanding of the core material required for certification in the electronics program. Assessment:Successful completion of required courses and track awarded degrees.
