The Associate of Arts and Certificate of Achievement in Graphic Design provides courses that prepare students for related workforce needs in the Media Art industry. Skills in Graphic Design are highly desirable across various industries, such as advertisement, media, print, games and tech. These are high demand skills in any corporation that promote visual design as part of their branding, social media, marketing, outreach and assets.
Students enrolled in this program will develop design skills in traditional and digital format, laying a strong foundation in visual design with necessary tools required for a strong graphic design portfolio. Students will learn graphic design principles and techniques as per the industry standard using professional software. Students will utilize additional skills such as Motion Graphics and Web Design to boost their expertise as per today's job market.
At the completion of this program students will have a well-rounded professional Graphic Design portfolio and have necessary skill sets for workforce requirements in a growing industry. The courses in our Certificate of Achievement will create a guided pathway for student success with this AA Degree in Graphic Design.

Program Goal:
The goal of this program is Career Education for occupational purpose and transfer. This program will prepare students for the job opportunities such as Graphic Designer, Brand Identity Manager, Visual Designer and similar jobs.
Objective:
The Associate of Arts and Certificate of Achievement in Graphic Design program is designed to prepare the students to enter the workforce with the knowledge they need to acquire an entry-level Graphic Design position. After completion of the Certificate of Achievement program, students may obtain an AA degree by completion of the required general education courses to meet a 60-unit total.
The goal of this program is to increase diversity in the digital art industry by providing an education platform for entry-level Graphic Design artists. This program aims to develop the quality and quantity of design professionals to fulfill industry needs and generate greater economic impact in the Bay Area region.
The Certificate program includes 7 hands-on courses, for a total of 21 units.
The AA program includes 9 hands-on courses. Students will be required to take additional 33 units of GE courses for a total of 60 units. Two of the core classes (6 units) also count as GE, making it 39 units for GE.
