This Program is designed to familiarize students with the standards and practices of metrology used in the aerospace manufacturing industries, which includes hands-on training and familiarization with metrology tooling, equipment, and systems. Jobs associated with this certificate are Tool & Die Maker, Machinist, Metrology Tech, Dimension Control Tech, Tool Design, and Tool Engineer. Students must receive a minimum grade of āCā or better in all required core courses and the specific courses listed as program electives to qualify for the certificate. (AVC)
Enrollment projection: 50 -100 students per year.
Students who complete the certificate have enhanced employability in the field of aerospace manufacturing. They have enhanced promotional opportunities into quality assurance and inspection positions. The certificate will provide students with metrology fundamentals and techniques to evaluate and troubleshoot complex task.
Students are required to take the following two classes for the certificate:
MSAM 110, Fundamentals of Dimensional Metrology is the prerequisite class for MSAM 115, Metrology Systems and Application.
