The Animation certificate of achievement provides students a comprehensive foundation in storyboarding, figure drawing, screenwriting, character development, , editing, concept art, and motion graphics. The program is geared towards students who want to acquire fundamental skills in animation art, production and technology. Students have the unique opportunity to make their first short animation and learn how to screen, promote and market their animation. These skills will help students either continue as an animators or continue their studies in animation.
Currently there is no Animation Certificate of Achievement and therefore no way for students to receive a degree. By creating this program students will have the ability to receive a certificate of achievement in Animation and this will significantly increase our enrollment in the existing courses. The hope is to have 1-3 students earning certificates in the first 2 years, and then increase to 5-8 students thereafter.
The purpose of the Animation Certificate of Achievement is to prepare students to enter the workforce as an entry level animator or continue their studies in animation. The coursework will prepare students to enter the workforce prepared to do entry-level storyboarding, concept art and animation work using skills obtained from the foundational courses in this program. These same foundational courses will also prepare students interested in furthering their education.
