This program provides students with hands-on education using industry-standard digital tools. The coursework focuses on the skills necessary for digital production and design using CAD technology, BIM technology, solid modeling techniques, rendering, animation, and digital image enhancement. Students will be prepared to work in a wide range of design disciplines, including Interior Design firms, Architecture firms, fixture and furnishing design firms, and 3D rendering firms.
In the past, Digital Production and Interior Architectural Design shared the same TOP code 1302.00. Completions separating this certificate from Interior Design is unknown at this point. We are moving this certificate under a more fitting TOP code 0953.10. With updated curriculum and adjusted course requirements, we anticipate more completions under the new TOP code.
Upon completion of the program, students will demonstrate the ability to draft and develop digital drawings and renderings for effective communication using industry standard tools and methods.
To earn a Department Certificate in Digital Production and Design, students must successfully complete the listed courses in the recommended sequence. Visual Studies 1 and 3 will be pre-requisites to the Advanced Visual Studies courses. Portfolio may be taken after Visual Studies, not necessarily after Advanced Visual Studies.
