The Transmission Service Technician certificate of achievement will prepare an individual for a career in the specialty area of transmission within the Automotive industry. Students will have the ability to diagnose, repair and rebuild both manual and automotive transmissions at the conclusion of this certificate.

Students who are wanting to come to college for purposes of gaining employable skills will benefit from having a smaller certificate of achievement in the Automotive industry to show their industry readiness prior to completion of the associate degree certificate. Jobs students would qualify for after completing this certification include but are not limited to:Transmission technician, Service adviser, Automotive Technician and Transmission Rebuilder. The student learning outcome for the Transmission Service Technician Certificate of Achievement is as follows: Students will be able to demonstrate proficiency in the core skills and knowledge of a transmission service technician required for employment in the automotive industry.
To earn Certificate of Achievement in Transmission Service Technician, students need to complete 20 specified units in Automotive Technology coursework.
