The Management - Level I Certificate of Achievement encompasses areas that include an overall study of basic business issues, focused study on managerial-related issues in particular, organizational behavior issues, and written and oral communications in the workplace. This certificate is designed to prepare students to seek entry-level organizational management positions, and the courses supporting the certificate combine classroom lectures, demonstrations, and a wide use of technology to ensure relevant training.
15 annual certificate completers are expected.
The Business program is creating a Management Level I Certificate to fulfill the current and projected demand for people who might be interested in getting first-line supervisory positions. This new certificate is supported by the Business Advisory Committee, which met on September 24, 2021, and the COE report dated October 2020.
There is an interest in and a need for creating a program for both transfer and nontransfer business students who may be looking for entry-level organizational management positions. This certificate is designed to prepare students (1) for internships and entry-level supervisory positions in business and industry; and (2) to seek promotions and advancements with their current or future employers from non-management positions into supervisory positions.
