The Massage Therapist Certificate of Achievement prepares students for employment in a variety of settings, including health-care facilities, spas, and private practice.
It is anticipated that 10-12 students per year will complete this certificate.
Upon successful completion of the program, students will demonstrate an ability to:
● Integrate anatomy, physiology, kinesiology,pathology, indications, contraindications, and client intake information to plan safe and effective massage treatments.
● Use proper body mechanics and appropriate draping techniques.
Communicate effectively with clients.
The courses included in this certificate of achievement are designed to meet requirements of CAMTC for certification as Massage Therapists. The new configuration of this COA as a two-semester program includes nine units each semester allowing students to attend MPC a minimum of 3/4 time.
