Students successfully completing this program will be prepared for entry-level employment in a career that uses a combination of different skills. Some of these skills include web development, user front-end design, graphics, database development and programming. At the end of the program, students will have a portfolio that will highlight their skills to potential employers.

Program Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of this program, students will be able to:
Operate commonly used computer hardware and software in Business and specifically in the Web Development field.
Identify the categories of software by their purpose and provide examples of each category.
Apply structured logic in analyzing and solving problems.
Create and maintain a web site that contains hyperlinks, graphics, tables and forms.
Plan and design a dynamic web site that will use the latest practices and procedures currently used.
Develop a portfolio of real world projects that are relevant to the web development industry.
The department and college use the program review process to assess program improvement needs. The department meets twice annually with its industry-based advisory committee to discuss industry/workplace needs and the enhancement of instructional programs to facilitate those needs. Discussions focus on specific skill sets desired by employers as well as current industry trends and issues with which students must be familiar upon program completion.
The courses for this certificate are housed within existing facilities. Faculty teaching in the program meet minimum qualifications. The instructional, library, and student support services are adequate to meet the needs of the program.
