This program focuses on General Motors specific vehicle systems. The courses are designed to provide students with both theory and hands-on skills that will enable them to become entry level technicians at General Motors dealerships. After the first semester students will be gaining work experience in the field.
I project having 16-18 completers earning a certificate every year.
The program goal is to provide training that will assist students in becoming entry level automotive technicians at General Motors dealerships.
Below are the program objectives:
Students are required to complete an introductory course in General Motors Fundamentals. They will then continue with courses on individual vehicle systems. Courses include brakes, electrical, engine repair, manual drivetrain and axle, engine performance, and suspension and steering.
The program was approved and recommend by the Cerritos College Automotive Department advisory committee on March 28, 2019.
